People Smarts
Developed by Dr. Tony Alessandra, the People Smarts training program
is designed to train participants to identify their colleagues'
behavioral patterns so they can work in harmony. Learn how to
express personal and professional needs clearly and recognize
the needs of others, how to adapt to others' styles and how to
better understand your co-workers, bosses and subordinates.
Masterful Coaching
This training module, in a half-day or full-day format, will help
the participants become "masterful coaches." They will
learn and practice the skills of gaining commitment, releasing
creativity, and helping people learn, grow and perform to their
maximum ability.
Integrating Work and Life
So exhausted that you can barely lift the remote control on Friday
night? Tired of only being able to give the last of your energy
to your family? The Integrating Work and Life workshop is designed
to improve life work balance and thus enhance workplace satisfaction,
improve productivity, and reduce absenteeism and turnover.
The Human Diversity Workshop
A "how-to" workshop presented in one-day and two-day
formats for developing skills for working with individuals from
diverse backgrounds. Participants will learn how to prevent bias
and discrimination and tap into the human potential of their diverse
workplace.
Surviving Workplace Change
For individuals to be successful in today's changing environment,
they must come to understand their own reactions to change and
develop practical techniques to constructively deal with the personal
aspects of change. With the ever increasing pace of change, this
workshop is appropriate for employees at all levels.
Transforming Workplace Conflict
Learn to manage conflict by identifying conflicting personality
styles in this dynamic one-day workshop. Discover the sources
of conflict: differing perceptions of facts, methods, goals or
values. And find out how to manage the conflict through strategies
such as avoiding, smoothing, bargaining, forcing and problem solving.
Measuring Performance Results
How do organizations know that they are accomplishing their most
important objectives? This training session, which can be tailored
to last from one to three days, gives strategic information to
those who measure the performance of an organization.
Strategic Planning
Many organizations are proceeding through significant changes
in their internal and external environments. Strategic plans are
designed to capture information about these changes and to create
a method for adapting the organization to the "brave new
world." This training, which can last one, two, or three
days, gives people the tools to develop a responsive mission statement,
to identify and quantify strategic directions and to create a
plan of action that will help the organization achieve its mission.
Sexual Harassment
There is no more pervasive and expensive problem in the workplace
today than sexual harassment. And with the changing demographics
of the workplace, with more gender and cultural diversity every
year in our workforce, understanding the issue of sexual harassment
is becoming much more important. This seminar, which can be done
in a one day or two day format, focuses on the standards for respect
in the workplace, recent Supreme Court decisions, and on how to
avoid making the mistakes which lead to sexual harassment claims.
Sessions can also be tailored to various subcomponents of the
workforce--office employees, field employees, law enforcement,
etc.
Monkey Management
Do your supervisors ever feel overwhelmed with tasks and assignments?
The demands on supervisors' time and attention come from their
boss, themselves and their employees. One of our more popular
topics, "Monkey Management," a term coined by William
Oncken in a Harvard Business Review article, offers strategies
for minimizing the impact of subordinate-imposed tasks on managers
and for improving the subordinates' abilities and skills in managing
tasks. Our Monkey Management Page offers
links to resources for becoming a great monkey manager!
Right-On Customer Service
As our economy diversifies globally,
sometimes we can only guess at the competition. One thing that
sets businesses, organizations and governmental entities apart
is the quality of the customer service they offer. This one-day
training experience introduces employees to the fundamentals of
customer service and reinforces the concept of "customer
delight," even when the customer may be irate or testy.
Time and Life Management
The key to creating balance in life is taking an active approach
to managing the competing demands of life: work, family, finances,
and so on. This one-day seminar offers the keys to success in
managing life, rather than being managed by it. The training emphasizes
many of the principles of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective
People, and makes them real and useful to participants. By
focusing on things that matter most, employees can become more
efficient and effective in their work--and in their lives.
The Supervisor's Academy
In any organization, effective supervisors are one of the major
keys to the organization's achievement of goals. But generally,
business invests relatively little in training new supervisors
or keeping the skills of all supervisors sharp. The Supervisor's
Academy is an eight-session "university" for supervisors.
Classes can be taught in one-half day or one-day increments and
topics include quality, problem solving, decision making, team
building, coaching, motivation and leadership, communication,
and human resource issues.
Stress for Success
Stress has been identified by repeated studies and polls as the
major reason for productivity losses in American business and
industry. Eliminating stress is not the answer, however, because
"good stress" is the lifeblood of effectiveness. The
key to managing stress is to find ways to capitalize on "good
stress" and to cope with negative stressors. This one-day
or half-day workshop focuses on understanding things that stress
us and developing the needed skills to manage stress to our advantage.
Dynamic Presentation Skills
Now, more than ever, professionals are expected to be capable
presenters. Yet statistics still show that a large percentage
of the population consider death to be preferable to having to
speak in public. This two-day seminar focuses on training people
to be capable presenters. The first day focuses on preparing presentations
and on engaging the audience. The second day's efforts are directed
at using audio-visual resources to enhance a presentation. The
class demonstrates appropriate use of Power Point software, preparation
of handouts and the use and preparation of overhead transparancies.
